Found a Treasure!

Some believe that a treasure is either in cash or gold. This treasure is something that could be used again w/o having to spend money acquiring it. Today's treasure are these beautiful clusters of Aloe Veras. One of my neighbor decided to throw theirs out so, "One person's trash is another person's treasure". :D

You can find these in the garden section of a store or at any local nursery. And if you have seen them, you know they are not cheap at all. Depending on the size they sell them at, they can go as low as $5.00. I've seen them sell for $14.00, it just depend on where you find them.

From what I've read, this Genus originated from Africa. It's also been mentioned that Aloe Vera had been used as a herbal medicine since the first century AD!  There are many uses for Aloe Veras. The most common used for topical treatment; soothing and healing sunburn, helps prevent and treat acne, helps eliminate eczema, helps reduce wrinkles and signs of aging... and so on. When taken orally, Aloe Veras are said to help with asthma, arthritis and heartburn just to name a few. There have been studies that showed Aloe Vera aids in lowering blood pressure for those who are diabetic. Other medicinal uses are for those who has congestion, kidney infections, indigestion, stomach ulcers, again just to name a few.

If you do a little research on them, you will find more information than what I have mentioned here. Just keep in mind though, some people might have an allergic reaction to them. Although it's not common, it can happen to some. Main sign would be a rash where it is applied. So make sure you "test out the water before jumping in"; is always my rule in living in harmony with nature. :)

 Using my hand to compare the size, some of them were really big! In this picture you see the one I'm touching is growing in a manner that is called  arborescent; which means it's growing like a tree.

 In this picture, you can see a single Aloe Vera growing from it's roots. I would have to look into how to separate them from the main stem/root because I've never done it before. 

 This picture is a beauty! Look at all of those Aloe Veras! Not only am I excited to start planting them, I'm also excited to make a good use of them. My first use would definitely a hair cream; just remove the gel from the inside of the leaf and apply directly to hair for a smooth, silky feel. Especially in this South Florida heat, my hair needs some protection. :)

Achievement! 

My Youtube Channel reached 2,000 Subscribers! Also, over 246,000 Videos watched! Wow! I know that there are many Channels out there that are way beyond where I'm at, but just in a little over a years time to achieve this much is super awesome to me. I'm super happy about it because it gives me great feeling to know that I'm people are watching my videos in turn sharing inspiration. :)

Here we go! 

Social Networking is sure a lot of work! But the truth of the matter is that I enjoy extending my love for nature, and opening another network is not a labor at all. I will be using this blog to share what I have already established from my other Page. Depending where this leads me, and the activity level I get from it, it will link both pages. So, today is the day when I have to put on my "nerd-glasses" and learn this whole new networking style. This is just another tool to keep up with the virtual-social-network. I'm ready!
